Description:
• This is a computerized steady state and non-steady heat transfer apparatus.
• The apparatus consists of a metal chamber with two walls, one made of the material to be tested and the other made of a material with known thermal conductivity.
• The walls are separated by a small gap, and the temperature on either side of the gap is measured using thermocouples.

• To perform a steady-state experiment, the material to be tested is placed in the chamber and the heater is turned on.
• The heater heats the wall on one side of the gap, and the heat is conducted through the material to the other side.
• The thermocouples measure the temperature on either side of the gap, and the thermal conductivity of the material can be calculated from the temperature difference and the heat flow.

• To perform a non-steady-state experiment, the material to be tested is placed in the chamber and the heater is turned on for a short period of time.
• The heater is then turned off, and the temperature on either side of the gap is measured over time.
• The thermal diffusivity of the material can be calculated from the temperature-time data.
