Description:
• A Pitot tube apparatus is used to measure the velocity of a fluid flowing through a pipe.
• It consists of a Pitot tube, which is a small tube with a hole facing the upstream direction of the flow, and a manometer, which is a device used to measure the pressure difference between two points.

• The Pitot tube is inserted into the pipe, and the manometer is connected to the Pitot tube and to a static port on the side of the pipe. 
• The static port measures the static pressure of the fluid, which is the pressure that the fluid would have if it were not flowing.

• The Pitot tube measures the total pressure of the fluid, which is the static pressure plus the dynamic pressure. 
• The dynamic pressure is the pressure that is created by the fluid's motion.

• The manometer measures the difference between the total pressure and the static pressure. 
• This difference in pressure is equal to the dynamic pressure of the fluid.
